Element
Element is a site specific installation, which can be reconfigured and adapted in response to an environment.
Comprised of glass, blue painter's tape and colour matched-paint, the following documentation showcases the piece utilizing the gallery floor and wall to describe a volume. The tape is placed on the floor and “tape-like” forms are painted directly onto the wall.
Element strikes a resonance between two dimensions and three dimensions, surface and volume, object and image.
In capturing space within its frame it also references photography, the viewfinder and cropping.
The parameters of its structure invite the viewer to participate socially by physically entering the piece or visiting its reflection.
